Cunningham Honors Outstanding Staff with the Circle of Courage Award

Cunningham Children’s Home honored four dedicated employees at our third annual Circle of Courage Award reception on April 17. Named for the Circle of Courage developmental model, this year's awards recognized:
- Melanie Bailey, Intake/Admissions Coordinator
Melanie has served the children of Cunningham Children’s Home since 1995. Creating a positive environment for staff and communicating a welcoming first impression to our clients, she truly exemplifies the value of Belonging. Read More
- Mike Lard, Maintenance Supervisor
Mike Lard came to Cunningham 18 years ago already skilled in the field of maintenance. Today, he exemplifies the value of Mastery, serving as a vital linchpin in the renovation and construction of multiple facilities to better meet the needs of our kids. Read More
- Alonzo Smith, Night Unit Counselor
Alonzo has been a Night Unit Counselor at Goodman Cottage for seven years. His patient and calming personality and ability to build trust embody the spirit of Independence. His supervisors describe him as “a rock” for his team, uniquely able to bring calm and stability during times of crisis. Read More
- Sandy Ratliff, Night Manager
Sandy has been Cunningham’s night manager since 2000. Sandy lives out the value of Generosity in the way she supports teams at night, the way she supervises her staff, and the way she gives of her time on projects benefiting Cunningham and the community. Read More
