National City Bank Invests in Kids

National City Bank believes in making good investments. And there can be no sounder advice than to invest in the future of our youth.

On September 24, a committed group of volunteers from National City Bank came out to Cunningham for a clean-up and organization day. Volunteers set up a special book fair for our kids, organized our supply area, and put together welcome baskets for incoming clients. In addition, the group brought a donation of $500 to further support Cunningham programs and services.

Our local National City Bank has twice chosen Cunningham as a finalist for the Voices for Illinois Children "Children's Champion" award. As a finalist, Cunningham received a financial contribution and the opportunity to be chosen as the statewide award winner.

Cargill Cares about Kids

On September 25, Representatives from Cargill visited the agency to present a donation presented a donation of $1,000 from their new "Cargill Cares" program.

To facilitate and promote local community involvement, Cargill locations worldwide have formed Cargill Cares Councils. Through these councils, Cargill collectively contributes millions of charitable dollars and thousands of volunteer hours to communities each year. These councils seek to partner with local nonprofit and charitable organizations that meet their guidelines and that can engage their employees in community involvement.

The Illinois Cargill Cares Council first took an interest in Cunningham when they learned that our programs are supported in part by income from donated farmland. We're grateful for their support and look forward to partnering with Cargill in the future.

Illini Collector Car Club Musters Support

On August 23, the Illini Collector Car Club chose to donate proceeds from its Illini Motor Muster to support Cunningham Children's Home.

The group was pleased to be able to hold such an enjoyable family event during the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival, while also raising $600 and building awareness of Cunningham children and youth.

For highlights of the Motor Muster, you can check out the Illini Collector Car Club website. You can also see some highlights from the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival on the Urbana Business Association website.
