Merry Christmas from Cunningham Children's Home

The Monday before Christmas, 11-year-old Jered shouted to Santa, "Santa, I just love you!" Jered’s outburst was deeply sincere – expressing the safe and unconditional love that every child deserves, but which he had rarely felt until he came to Cunningham.

The generosity of our supporters allows every child and youth to experience the delight and surprise of Christmas treats and brightly wrapped gifts. Cunningham kids get to experience a "normal" Christmas – with gifts and toys, candy canes and carols because of people like you.

Christmas at Cunningham is a time of faith and reflection. This year, Cunningham’s Chaplain and Special Therapies staff organized a special worship service to invite Cunningham kids to experience the promise and hope of Christmas. At this year's celebration, young people sang, danced, and participated in the telling of the Christmas story.

In keeping with Cunningham tradition, as "Silent Night" played softly in the background, the names of every child or youth at Cunningham was read out loud. A candle was lit for each youth, and candles were lit for Cunningham children of the past and children who will join our family in the future.

Children and youth who have grown up and moved on from Cunningham often call during this time of year to thank the staff who cared for them years ago. Just as you may touch base with your family and friends during the holiday season, former Cunningham kids know that we would like to hear from them.

We hope that the holiday season is a time of great joy and love for you, and wish you a very Merry Christmas and blessed New Year.
