Volunteer

Volunteers play an important role at Cunningham Children’s Home. For the youth, and families who need our therapeutic care, the difference our volunteers make is beyond measure. Our volunteers help support our mission- to see every child thrive and are instruments of hope. We offer meaningful opportunities for individuals, groups, and organizations with varied interests and schedules.

Volunteer Areas and Opportunities:

Special events

Our special fundraising events include the Festival of Quilts, Kendall Gill Golf Outing and other special celebrations; Mission Day, Homecoming, and various Christmas related activities wouldn’t be possible without help from the community. Our volunteers – individuals and groups – are often needed on weekends. These volunteers provide our guests with a welcoming atmosphere, information, and directions, that help events run smoothly.

Clerical Assistance

For individuals, community groups, and businesses available during business hours, one-time or ongoing opportunities include assisting with folding and stuffing letters for mailings, wrapping Christmas presents, helping with event set up and breakdown for Festival of Quilts and Kendall Gill Golf Outing.

Your Special Skills = Additional Opportunities

Individuals with special skills or unique abilities are encouraged to call to discuss additional volunteer opportunities with Cunningham Children’s Home.

We have been blessed with many special and talented volunteers who have come to Cunningham offering their expertise. Some of these “expert” opportunities have included a cooking clinic with local chefs, dance and movement lessons with a dance troupe, soccer and softball clinics with local clubs and coaches, and a fishing clinic with a renowned fisherman.

Local community leaders also come to campus to read to our youth during African American Read-In Day each fall. The possibilities are endless!
