Phase
II of the Campus Master Plan calls for creation of a
new Education and Special Therapies complex at the North side
of our rejuvenated campus. Specific planning for the project is underway. The original Master Plan envisioned three connected components of the Education and Special Therapies Complex:
Educational Center
The proposed educational center will house both the
residential and day treatment school under one roof.
The two schools would be separate and distinct, each
housing classrooms for up to 75 students and 60 staff.
Shared educational facilities may include a new library,
vocational service classrooms, computer labs and a teacher's lounge.
Recreation Center
The plan proposes a new 40,600 square foot recreation
and special therapies facility, to include offices for special therapies therapists, a gymnasium, an indoor
swimming pool, a music therapy room, occupational therapy, and art therapy facilities.
Cafeteria
The plan proposes a new 5,640 square foot cafeteria
with a seating capacity of 120 persons and space for
food preparation, receiving, supplies storage, and dishwashing.
The dining area would be convertible to auditorium-type
seating for large group presentations and meetings.
A divider will also allow the space to be used for smaller
gatherings.
