Chaplain Gay

Chaplain Gay

Rev. Gay King Crede serves as Chaplain at Cunningham Children's Home in Urbana.

Drawing upon her experiences as a foster parent, adoptive parent, and her work with children in the church, Chaplain Gay strives to make God's healing love real to young people with special needs and deep hurts who come to Cunningham.  She leads weekly Chapel services and small groups for the youth, as well as being available to them individually.  She also offers spiritual encouragement to the Cunningham staff.

Chaplain Gay earned a Bachelor’s degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology.  Her partner in life, Rev. Dan King Crede, is Senior Pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church and Executive Director of the Wesley Foundation in Urbana.  The King Credes have served as co-pastors of churches in Williamsville, Moline, and Jacksonville, Illinois.

Chaplain Gay loves to hike in the mountains, listen to jazz, spend time with her four grand girls, and share what God is doing in the lives of Cunningham kids!
