Marie has over 18 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families providing child welfare and mental health services. She has worked in the Residential Treatment Program, the Foster Care Program, and HopeSprings Counseling Services at Cunningham Children’s Home. She is passionate about helping children, adolescents and families to heal and recover from trauma. She takes a collaborative approach when working with families and seeks to strengthen family support networks.
She has experience and training in mindfulness practices intended to help children, adolescents and adults to manage overwhelming emotions, anxiety, and stress and to increase body awareness when healing from trauma.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois; Bachelor of Science in Brennan Healing Science from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing; Candidate for Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois
