His Future Is Bright

Kaleb spends his free time shooting hoops.
Assistant Principal Paula and Kaleb enjoy an end of year school outing.

As another successful school year comes to an end at Cunningham, we wanted to share a story from our newest campus, CIRCLE Academy-Vermilion in Rossville.

Kaleb, a sophomore at CIRCLE Academy-Vermilion, says history is his favorite subject. "I like to learn about things that happened in the past."

This may be true, but Kaleb doesn't like to dwell on his own past. "I used to be a dangerous kid before I came to Cunningham. I was very angry and would run away a lot. "

Thank You Foster Parents!

In recognition of National Foster Parent Appreciation Month, Cunningham Children's Home would like to thank all foster parents especially those who worked with our agency to provide love and support to more than 60 children last year. You made a difference in the life of a child and we are grateful.

Always Earned, Never Given

On a beautiful, sunny Saturday, Cunningham's Special Therapies staff could be heard encouraging Dominic as he ran across an open field. He was participating in the Illinois Inter-Agency Athletic Association (IIAA) Central Region track meet along with eight other Cunningham youth.

Making Ripples

Cunningham Children's Home recently recognized 33 businesses and organizations in the local community that provide our students with an opportunity to learn vocational and life skills.

"As Volunteer Appreciation Week comes to an end, Cunningham Children's Home wishes to THANK so many who make a difference in the lives of our youth.

Mission Day with Cunningham

First, the steady beat of a drum. Then a tambourine. Followed quickly by a cowbell and egg shakers. The sounds lifted through Cunningham's Gerber School on Saturday as youth and adults from six churches participated in our annual Mission Day with Cunningham. It was a chance for them to experience some of the therapeutic activities that are offered to Cunningham youth on a daily basis.
