a foster parent?
Are you looking for a place where
you can get support, information, and advice about being

in a foster home.

youth.
- At least 21 years of age.

child placed in their home.
- Able to meet State of Illinois Foster Home licensing
standards.

To become a Cunningham Children's Home foster parent, you must also live within 30 miles of Urbana, Illinois. Not from our area? You can learn more about other Illinois agencies at foster kids are our kids.org

Support for foster parents
Cunningham provides our dedicated
foster parents with significant training and support
– including 27 hours of pre-service training,
15 hours of treatment foster parent training, and 6
hours of educational advocacy.
To offset the cost of supporting a foster child, foster
parents are provided with a total of $40.55 per day
for room and board, clothing, and the child's
allowance. All of the child's medical and dental
expenses are also paid.
Foster program staff are available on call 24-hours
a day, every day. Plus, foster parents are supported
and encouraged through monthly support and training
dinners where childcare is provided. We truly see foster
parents as an extension of the Cunningham team and family.
