YOU DID IT! What a week we had with the 16th Annual Festival of Quilts! Together, we raised $21,500 in our Festival online store to support the youth, adults and families we serve, surpassing our $20,000 goal. Our sincere thanks!
We Went Online!
Many joined us for the 16th Annual Festival of Quilts—our signature fundraiser—from the comfort of their own home. This year’s event was online June 1-5—five days of virtual FUNdraising!
"We had to be creative and adapt this year’s Festival to ensure the health and safety of everyone as we endure this pandemic," Ginger Mills, Director of Advancement, said. "I don’t doubt our community and donors will continue to support the Festival, even in this year’s virtual format, and allow us to continue to provide complete care to the youth, adults and families we serve."
How it worked:
- Shopping and purchasing was simple! Patrons browsed the beautiful quilts, wall hangings, table runners and gift shop items and as they found the items they wanted, they put them in their cart.
- When they finished shopping for their treasures, they simply checked out!
- Several watched our FACEBOOK LIVE VIDEO events throughout the week where we will showcased a sweet selection of items from the store-QVC style and gave a little bit of mid-day entertainment! It was interactive too. Many asked questions or made remarks by commenting during the live show!
The Festival featured something for everyone:
ONLINE QUILT SALE featured more than 100 beautiful traditional and contemporary quilts and wall hangings available for purchase.
ONLINE GIFT SHOP packed with generously donated unique and handcrafted items for sale at reasonable prices.
DAILY FACEBOOK LIVE EVENTS, June 1-5 at 11 a.m., with engaging hosts that gave an up close and personal look at quilts and gift shop items available for purchase.
UNBAKE SALE An opportunity to support Cunningham without getting your pans dirty or your fingers sticky.
FEATURED SPEAKER Kelly McCleary, "The Quirky Quiltress," shared her quilting techniques and expertise in an online event.
SPECIAL GUESTS joined our hosts during the Facebook Live Video events including Cunningham staff and Festival committee members.
"The Festival of Quilts is so important to us," Ginger said. "Since Cunningham opened in 1895, United Methodist Women and quilters from across Illinois have made quilts for our kids. Thanks to them, thousands of young lives have been wrapped in warmth, safety and love. The Festival of Quilts honors this tradition. I have seen some really resilient youth rise above some very unfortunate circumstances but that does not happen without care and support from so many."
