Festival of Quilts Guidelines

show quilt guidelines

  • Deadline: The deadline for entering a show quilt in the 20th Annual Festival of Quilts is Friday, March 22, 2024.
  • Entry fee is $10 per quilt. Space is limited so please be aware that we may not be able to display all of your quilts but will make every effort to do so.
  • The Affadavit and Waiver form must be completed and accompany your entry. Insurance of quilts is the participant’s responsibility.
  • The Festival is held in a secure facility that is locked at night. While we will treat quilts with the highest level of respect and care, the Festival of Quilts and Cunningham Children’s Home are not liable for any damage that may occur to quilts from the time of delivery until they are picked up after the show.
  • Quilts must be completed, clean, high-quality (quilted-not tied, pieced-not “cheater cloth”), undamaged and in excellent condition to qualify for  exhibition. No framed or mounted quilts will be accepted.
  • Ribbons will be awarded for BEST IN SHOW, HONORABLE MENTION, PEOPLE’S CHOICE.

DONATION quilt guidelines

  • Deadline: The deadline to donate a quilt for the 20th Annual Festival of Quilts is Friday, March 22, 2024
  • All proceeds from the Festival of Quilts will benefit Cunningham Children’s Home, a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
  • Quilts donated for the Festival of Quilts become property of Cunningham Children’s Home.
  • The Donation Quilt Waiver form must be completed and accompany your quilt.
  • Quilts must be handmade. They may be either hand or machine pieced and quilted.
  • Quilts must be in excellent condition; complete, clean, and undamaged. The Festival of Quilts Committee looks for craftsmanship to determine pricing for quilts.
  • Donors are asked to provide suggestions regarding the quilt’s value and sale price; however, the Festival of Quilts Committee reserves the right to determine the starting bid  or buy-it-now price. Please remember this is a fundraiser for Cunningham kids, so some quilts may be “priced to sell,” at the Committee’s discretion.
  • Due to space limitations, the Festival of Quilts Committee reserves the right to place some quilt donations into the Gift Shop or Quilt Boutique.
  • Quilts that are not sold during the Festival of Quilts may be held for future events or sold in another venue, including but not limited to the Gift Shop, Quilt Boutique or online.

Gift Shop Guidelines

  • Only hand-crafted items will be sold in the Gift Shop. No second-hand/store-bought items will be accepted.
  • All proceeds from the Gift Shop will benefit Cunningham Children’s Home, a 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions to Cunningham are tax deductible as allowed by law.
  • The Gift Shop Committee will review all donations to determine their appropriateness and reserves the right to remove any donated items from the Gift Shop or to place them in the Quilt Boutique.
  • Donors are asked to estimate the cost of materials for each donated item. However, the Gift Shop Committee will assign prices to all items. Please remember that this is a benefit for Cunningham kids, so items may be “priced to sell” at the committee’s discretion.
