Amy has over 10 years of experience providing therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In her work in various outpatient settings she has developed a focus on total wellness-integrating physical, mental, and emotional health. Amy uses a trauma informed approach to work alongside clients to achieve their goals. She has extensive experience intervening during crisis and helping clients transform crisis into an opportunity for change utilizing motivational interviewing and other therapeutic techniques. Amy has treated a variety of mental health challenges including mood disorders, relational issues, emotional regulation difficulties, and anxiety.
Amy is certified in the Illinois Medicaid-Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (IM+CANS) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. She has been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Amy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Education: Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse; Master of Science in Human and Community Development and a Master of Social work from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign
