The numbers are in for the 15th Annual Festival of Quilts. With the help of so many, Cunningham Children’s Home raised $70,206 in net proceeds for the children and families we serve!
Our thanks to all—those who donated quilts for the auction or for show, our generous sponsors, our wonderful and dedicated Festival committee, our selfless volunteers, those who provided delicious bake sale items, our supportive and helpful Cunningham staff, and the 1,466 visitors from our community and beyond who joined us for this very special event. We are so grateful!
The Festival, Cunningham’s signature fundraiser, honors the tradition of the United Methodist Women and the quilts they, and quilters from across Illinois, have made for our kids for more than 124 years. Since Cunningham opened in 1895, each child has received a quilt of their own to wrap them in warmth, comfort and hope.
Guests over the two days of the Festival enjoyed featured speakers, goodies from the bake sale, lunch at the Patchwork Café, the quilt boutique, campus tours and handcrafted items from the gift shop. The campus tour on Saturday included a visit to our brand new Rosann Gelvin Noel Education Center.
Beginning May 1st, the quilts that did not sell at the Festival will be available for purchase on our website.
Mark your calendars now for next year’s Festival: April 3-4, 2020.
